Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1 Female patients between the age group of 12-18 years. 2 Patients presenting with clinical sign and symptoms of Pandu Roga (IDA) mentioned in Ayurvedic Texts. 3 Patients with mild to moderate anaemia (haemoglobin level from 11g/dl to 8 g/dl). 4 Patients/Parents giving consent to participate in the study. 5 Microcytic hypochromic anaemia on peripheral blood smears (PBSs).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients with severe anaemia (Hb 2 IDA with any associated severe complication. 3 Patient having occult blood positive on stool examination. 4 Family history of severe anaemia and /or need for blood transfusion. 5 Anaemia in case of defective absorption due to gastrectomy, sprue syndrome. 6 Any other systemic disease wherein anaemia is one among the presenting complaints.
