Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All thoracic trauma patients with hemothorax /pneumothorax/ hemopneumothorax

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients not willing to participate in study 2.Patient undergone thoracotomy/ VATS 3.Patient on mechanical ventilation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.To compare the duration of tube thoracostomy in both groups.Timepoint: 2 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
2.To compare the duration of hospital stay. 3.To compare the incidence of persistent air leak. 4.To compare the incidence of re-interventions. 5.To compare the incidence of clotted hemothorax. 6.To calculate injury severity score. Timepoint: 24 hrs
