Intervention1: Premedication with clonidine: Clonidine 2 mcg/kg diluted in 50 ml normal saline is administered intravenously over 15 minutes, 15 minutes before the procedure as premedication

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: patients undergoing modified ECT belonging to ASA class 1 and 2
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients belonging to ASA class 3 and 4, patients with ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, history of stroke within one year, renal and hepatic dysfunction
