Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult ( >18yrs) type 2 diabetes mellitus patients Uncontrolled diabetes (HbA1c: 7.5 - 8.5) On stable treatment for the past 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Type 1 diabetes mellitus Elderly patients ( >65 yrs) Patients on insulin therapy Pregnant or lactating women Known macrovascular complications GI manifestations of DM autonomic neuropathy Lactose intolerance Irritable Bowel syndrome Addictions such as alcohol Diabetic ketoacidosis Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar syndrome
