Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Male and female patients who have schizophrenia for more than 2 years currently following up from the schizophrenic clinic in CIP. • Respondents within the age limit of 18-60 years. • Respondents with disability score of >=40%. • Care giver respondents who are residing with the patient for last 2 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Respondents who already have disability certificate • Respondents without primary caregivers

Participants will become aware of disability certification, the process of getting it, major welfare benefits and schemes and UDID. â?¢ To assess the effectiveness of disability welfare counselling on the knowledge, attitude and practice of care givers of schizophrenia towards disability certification. â?¢ To assess the severity of symptoms and disability among patients with schizophrenia â?¢ To study the factors facilitating and hindering disability certification â?¢ To study the relationship between the socio-demographic and clinical variables with severity of symptoms, disability levels and disability certification among patients with schizophreniaTimepoint: 6 months
