Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients in PICU who will undergo extubation after more than 12 hours of mechanical ventilation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Caregivers of patients not giving consent for participating in the study. Randomization not done due to physician choice of post extubation support. Diaphragmatic paralysis. Presence of a tracheostomy tube.
