Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children with hypoxemic respiratory failure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children requiring intubation , cyanotic congenital heart disease, presence of air leak at admission, nasal deformities/ injury, refusal by parents

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in rate of mechanical ventilation, Reduction in respiratory score, SpO2/PaO2 and PaCO2 Timepoint: 1 hourly for the first 6 hours, 4 hourly for next 12 hours, 6 hurly for next 54 hours, total of 72 hours or early if improved
