Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA physical status grade I and II paediatric patients undergoing strabismus surgery 2.Age: 5-15 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Children whose parents are unwilling to give consent. 2.Children with known allergy to local anaesthetics (LA). 3.Children with mental retardation, global development delay in whom communication would be difficult in the perioperative period.

| To compare between the groups: 1.Ultrasound visualisation of area of spread of local anaesthetic (LA) in the post-operative period in the subTenonââ?¬â?¢s space above the specific muscle LA was injected. 2.Pain scores 3. PONV 4.Number of children having mild, moderate to severe pain in the first 24 hours post- surgery. 5.Total dose of postoperative paracetamol and ibuprofen required in the 24 hour postoperative period. 6.Ease of surgical incision closure. Timepoint: 1. Immediate postoperatively 2 and 3 at 0-2, 2-6, 6-24 hours and 0-24 hours post surgery 4. & 5. 0-24 hours post surgery. 6. Just prior to end of surgery | — |
