Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient who require rapid sequence induction (RSI) during general anaesthesia for urgent/emergent abdomino-pelvic surgeries. Patient aged 18 years and above,who are competent to give informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Pregnant females at any gestational age. • Patients with severe cardio-respiratory disease. • Clinical suspicion or confirmed diagnosis of base of skull fracture or severe facial trauma that precludes nasal cannula placement. • Contraindications to the rapid sequence induction, if any (e.g. already intubated patients). • BMI >=40kg/m2 • Patients with laryngotracheal stenosis or benign or malignant hypopharyngeal obstruction
