Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe form of chronic generalized periodontitis with more than =30% of the sites showing =5.0 mm of clinical attachment loss 2. No systemic diseases that could influence the outcome of the therapy 3.Non-smokers 4.Compliance with the maintenance program 5.No use of antibiotics or anti ?inflammatory drugs in the past 6 months
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: i.Patients with previous systemic conditions and pregnant females ii.Patients allergic to local anesthetics, chlorhexidine, antibiotics and analgesics iii.Previous history of intolerance to polyunsaturated fatty acids iv.Patients who had a habit of smoking and tobacco chewing. v.Patients who underwent periodontal surgery 1 year back vi.Patients requiring any emergency dental treatment
