Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients in PICU requiring mechanical ventilation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a)Patients on ventilator after nasal intubation b)Patients after accidental extubation c)Care givers of patients not giving consent for specific suction system

MeasureTime frame
To compare closed suction system versus open suction system in incidence of ventilator induced pneumonia Timepoint: at baseline, 48 hrs and till child child in ventilator

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) To compare the difference in efficacy of closed to open suction system in reducing mortality and length of stay in the intensive care unit. 2) To compare the difference in efficacy of closed to open suction system in stabilizing cardiorespiratory parameters. Timepoint: 1 yr 6 month
