Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy Age group 18-65 years ASA grades 1 and 2
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients refusing to participate in the study Pregnant patients Patients posted for emergency surgeries Patients with gastric emptying disorders and having features of gastro oesophageal reflux Diabetic patients

| To assess the blood sugar levels in patients receiving preoperative carbohydrate loading during the perioperative period. To assess the anxiety, thirst, hunger, tiredness and nausea during the preoperative and postoperative period in patients receiving preoperative carbohydrate loading. To assess the haemodynamic changes in patients receiving preoperative carbohydrate loading during the perioperative period. Timepoint: Wellbeing assessed using VAS. Measure blood sugar hourly till induction , every hourly during intraoperative period and again hourly during the postoperative period for 6 hours. Intraoperative:Record hemodynamic parameters post induction , post intubation, at incision, at creation of pneumoperitoneum, at 10 minute intervals, at end of pneumoperitoneum and after extubation.Postoperative:Assess wellbeing hourly for 6 hours . Measure hemodynamic and Blood sugar levels hourly for 6 hours. | — |
