Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA grade I and II Age group 20-40yrs Weight between 40 and 80 kg Elective abdominal surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients not willing to participate in the study. Patient allergic to the study drug. Patients undergoing laproscopic surgery. Patients with difficult airway.

MeasureTime frame
To determine the difference in post extubation SBP, DBP, MAP and Heart Rate from baseline to extubation in both study. groups (esmolol vs propofol). Timepoint: To compare the above mentioned parameters at: 1. After giving reversal 2. Before extubation 3. 1, 3 , 5 and 10 minutes post extubation

1.)Difference in mean sedation score at extubation in both study group. 2.)To determine the difference in proportion of cases experiencing side effects in both groups if any. Timepoint: To asses the above mentioned parameters at: 1. After giving reversal 2. Before extubation 3. 1, 3 , 5 and 10 minutes post extubation
