Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients 18 years and above with acute traumatic brain injury with Glasgow coma scale motor response <=4 anytime between day3-5 of injury

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with extracranial injuries 2.Haemodynamically unstable patients 3.Patient in ictal or post ictal state 4.Severe sodium disturbances (serum sodium 160 meq/L) 5.Severe glucose disturbances (blood glucose 300 mg/dl 6.Patients in severe sepsis 7.Patient refusal 8.Patients who become conscious (e.g, BIS >80 or 95%SEF >25) at the time of application of painful stimulus
