Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients meeting the Rotterdam PCOS criteria for polycystic ovary syndrome defined by oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea and at least one of the following two signs clinical or biochemical evidence of hyperandrogenism or ultrasound finding of polycystic appearing ovaries subjects who are willing to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are having diabetes mellitus hyperprolactinemia thyroid disorders and hypertension will be excluded The use of confounding medications such as oral hypoglycemics insulin-sensitizing drugs oral contraceptive agents and anti hypertensives will be excluded from the study Any other co-morbid conditions will be excluded Hormonal treatment involving estrogen or progesterone 3 months prior to or during the study period Current pregnancy or lactation
