Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients of either sex aged between 18 - 60 years Patients belonging to ASA class I - II posted for elective lower abdominal surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant and lactating females. BMI Ë? 30kg/m2 Patients allergic to local anesthetics and dexamethasone Patients having local site infections Patients having any bleeding coagulopathy disorders

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the efficacy of addition of dexamethasone to levobupivacaine in terms of duration of block and time for first rescue analgesia based on visual analogue scale. Timepoint: 1st,2nd, 4th, 8th, 16th and 24th hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
to compare the hemodynamic parameters like heart rate, spo2,respiratory rate, blood pressure, map between the two groupsTimepoint: post operatively until 24 hours
