Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult aged between 18-60 years 2. Free from systemic diseases 3. Free from physical and mental disabilities 4. Willing to offer informed consent 5. Minimum 20 natural permanent teeth

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Gross oral defects that interfered with chewing 2. History of use of antibiotics in the last three months 3. Any deleterious and parafunctional habits 4. Presence of removable / fixed appliances

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Plaque score will be assessed using Turesky�s modification of Quigley Hein Plaque Index.Timepoint: Baseline and 21 days after intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Tongue coating will be measured using Winkel Tongue Coating Index (WTCI) by dividing the tongue into 6 segments and scored as 0: having no coating, 1: light tongue coating and 2: heavy tongue coating. Oral halitosis will be measured using Rosenberg et al scale, which is 0: Absence of odor, 1 : Questionable odor, 2 : Slight malodor, 3 : Moderate malodor, 4 : Strong malodor, 5 : Severe malodor.Timepoint: Baseline and 21 days following intervention.
