Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 1 to 10 years, American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II to III, of either sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Those with known allergy to dexmedetomidine and midazolam. 2. Difficult airway. 3. Haemodynamically unstable children
