Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients belonging to ASA physical status I and II 2. Aged 18 â?? 65 years 3. Patients undergoing elective orthopedic surgery for forearm fractures under brachial plexus block

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who refuse to consent 2. Patients with hypersensitivity to local anaesthetics 3. Patients with other injuries and fractures which may require different analgesic regimens or multiple surgeries 4. Patients who are on prior therapy for chronic pain 5. Patients with contraindications to brachial plexus block

To determine incidence of Rebound pain in Patients undergoing orthopedic surgery for forearm fractures under single shot brachial plexus block.Timepoint: Pain at 6hours, 12hours, 18hours, 24hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effect of perineural dexamethasone on incidence and intensity of rebound pain. To evaluate effect of perineural dexamethasone on post operative blood glucose levels. Timepoint: Pain intensity and Blood sugar at 6hour, 12hour, 18hour, 24hour
