Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients >= 18 years of age with ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke confirmed by neuroimaging, presenting within 24 hours of signs and symptom onset
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of stroke and has a modified Rankin Scale score higher than 2 Patients with an infection history within 2 weeks before stroke Patients having respiratory infections during hospital at admission Patients taking immunosuppressants or steroids Patients having malignancies or autoimmune diseases Patients not willing to give consent for the study
