Intervention1: intravenous paracetamol ,Dexmedetomidine: 1 gram of paracetamol were infused over the period of 15 min immediately after induction. Dexmedetomidine infusion started 1mcg/kg over 10 min

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: I. Age 18 to 60 years, of both genders II. American society of Anesthesiologists Gradeâ??I, Gradeâ??II III. Patients posted for laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures (duration being 1 to 2 hours).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) American society of anesthesiologists Grade- III, Gradeâ??IV, Grade V. (2) Anticipated difficult airway. (3) Mallampati Gradeâ??III and Mallampati Gradeâ??I V. (5) Patients who are on aminoglycosides, MgSO4, antidepressants, anticonvulsants and anti-arrhythmic (6) Known history of allergy to any of the study drugs. (7) Pregnant women

MeasureTime frame
Better analgesia intra-operatively and post -operatively, prolonged duration with minimal side effects. Total opioid requirement postoperatively and time to first rescue analgesia Timepoint: 1hrs,2hr,3hr,4 hr, upto 24 hrs
