Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) ASA 1 physical status 2) scheduled for elective lower abdominal surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)parents who are not willing to give consent for involving their children in the study 2)contraindication to spinal anesthesia

MeasureTime frame
1)evaluate the block characteristics in both the groups 2) evaluate the total intraoperative intravenous drug consumption for sedation 2) evaluate the total intraoperative intravenous drug consumption for sedationTimepoint: hemodynamics at baseline , onset of sensory and motor block in the intraoperative period , duration of sensory and motor block asessment and hemodynamics till 24 hours after the surgery

to assess the adverse effects in both the groupsTimepoint: from the time of administration of spinal to 6 hours postoperatively
