Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: For study group: Presence of at least one site with >=5mm probing depth Clinical attachment level >=3mm ( excluding 3rd molars and the distal surface of second molars) For the control group : Absence of any site with > 3mm pocket depth No clinical attachment loss

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Known systemic diseases History or presence of any other infections Systemic antibiotic therapy in the past three months Pregnancy or lactating females. No history of previous periodontitis or periodontal treatment
