Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients infected with dermatophytosis of both gender and aged between 14 years to 90 years will be enrolled

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients below 14 years of age and having underlying diseases such as diabetes, HIV/AIDS, SLE, thyroidism and concomitant atopic diathesis

MeasureTime frame
This study will enable us to ascertain the role of corticosteroids in modulating the innate immune response of host tissue in vivo and keratinocytes cell line in vitro when infected with dermatophytes. In the second objective we will perform antifungal susceptibility testing of cultures isolated from steroid modified tinea cases.Timepoint: Primary outcome: culture growth: 6 weeks SEM and Histopathological Analysis: 2 weeks Cell line data analysis: 3 months Antifungal susceptibility Testing: 6 months Final outcome:8-12 months from the beginning of recruitment.

MeasureTime frame
This study will provide the details of antifungal susceptibility testing of cultures isolated from steroid modified tinea cases. Results from this study will be compared with Antifungal susceptibility testing results that have already been published from our centre.Timepoint: The following study will be completed over a period of one year.
