Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children with acute pancreatitis admitted in hospital. Control subjects are age and sex matched normal children
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children with chronic pancreatitis, liver disorders, Cholestasis, short bowel syndrome, Small bowel mucosal diseases, Celiac disease, Inflammatory bowel disease, Surgical intervention on the gastrointestinal tract, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome will be excluded. Children who are on nutritional supplementation, who have had any major illness over the last 3 months, Recent diarrhoea within a month, Febrile illness or NSAID usage a month prior to illness will also be excluded.

| 1.To determine whether children (aged 8-15y) with acute pancreatitis have reduced fat digestibility in comparison to control childrenTimepoint: 13C mixed chain triglyceride meal will be administered in both cases and controls and breath samples will be collected and analyzed over a period of 6 hours.
