Intervention1: Chukku karpam: 30-60ml of chukku karpam will be given twice a day with adjuvent panai vellam after a meal for 48 days. Control Intervention1: nil: nil

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Complaint about pain in the lower back region radiating to the lower extremities anteriorly. Numbness,tenderness in the lower back region. Limitation of lower back movements.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: traumatic condition. ankylosing spondylitis. spondylolisthesis. neoplasm congenital anomalies. pregnant woman and lactating mother. patient with any other serious systemic illness.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Pain reduction is assessed by Visual Analogue Scale. Improvement in range of movements,stiffness is assessed by Oswestry Disability Index. Timepoint: 48 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcome is assessed by comparing the safety parameters before and after treatment. Timepoint: 48 days
