Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients meeting diagnostic criteria of bipolar affective disorder according to ICD 10. Patients of age 12 or above Patients willing to give written informed consent for participating in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with diagnosis of mania due to organic cause and substance induced

Proposed risk factors ( genetic, obstetric complication, childhood trauma, childhood ADHD, Premorbid adjustment, pronounced creativity, substance use, subthreshold affective symptoms) will be analyzed using scales and associations with BPAD using ANNOVA and Chi square will be established.
