Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients scheduled for unilateral open inguinal hernia repair under spinal anaesthesia 2. American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classes I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. BMI > 35 kg/m2 2. Contraindications to or known allergy to local anaesthetics 3. Coagulopathies 4. Raised intracranial pressure 5. Local infection at site of injection 6. History of heart block, dysrhythmias, neurological diseases
