Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All electively posted cases for surgery without prior in situ intravenous cannula Patients cannulated in median cubital veins, metacarpal veins, or cephalic veins Patients cannulated with single attempt using 18 gauge or 20 gauge IV cannula Adult patients of age above or equal to 18 year

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any previous attempt at intravenous cannulation in current admission Presence of skin disease or lesion Patients with autoimmune disease Patients with chronic kidney disease Patients on anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs Cancer patients with history of previous chemotherapy or radiotherapy
