Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients consenting for the study 2.Patients over the age of 50yrs undergoing cataract surgery under peribulbar block of local anaesthetic agent in Rajarajeswari medical college Hospital, Bangalore.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Known allergy to study drugs 2.Patient refusal of local anaesthetic block 3.Extraocular muscle paresis 4.Glaucoma 5.Orbital anomaly 6.Ocular infection 7.Mental retardation 8.Uncontrolled hypertension 9.Coagulation abnormalities 10.Posterior staphyloma 11.Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
