Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA grades I or II 2. Either gender 3. Adult patients aged > 18 years and 4. Scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not willing to give consent 2. Patients allergic to clonidine 3. Patient with concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants or opioids 4. Pregnant females 5. Patients who are chronic hypotensive.

To compare and evaluate pneumoperitoneum induced haemodynamic changes after administering oral clonidine at different doses as premedication with respect to the following: 1) Heart Rate (HR) 2) Systolic Bp (SBP) 3) Diastolic BP (DBP) 4) Mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) 5) End tidal cabon di-oxide (EtCo2) 6) EntropyTimepoint: Vitals measured at various time interval: Baseline After premedication Before induction 2 minutes after Endotracheal tube intubation time in minutes after insufflation (AI): AI 1 AI 5 AI 15 AI 30 AI 45 AI 60 Exsufflation After extubation
