Intervention1: behaviour modification therapy: Participants in the intervention group will be contacted at their place of residence 12 times by the research team. A written standard operating procedur

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult males and females (aged 18- 65 years) smoking for last = 1month and residing for the past 6 months in the study area and who give consent to participate in the study will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those who had received previous treatment for cessation of tobacco in last one year or were suffering from any serious physical and/or mental illness will be excluded. Those who do not give consent for participation in the study will be excluded.
