Inclusion criteria: Patients who fulfil the diagnostic criteria for acute pancreatitis and reporting within 48 hours of onset of initial

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: â?ª Patients with Chronic Pancreatitis, Recurrent Pancreatitis. â?ª Patients with severe burns or major trauma. â?ª Patients with severe or prolonged Cardiogenic shock. â?ª Patients with small cell lung cancer or medullary carcinoma thyroid. â?ª Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.

The severity of acute pancreatitis in relation to the procalcitonin levelsTimepoint: Serum Procalcitonin levels will be assessed in the first 24 hrs. Severity is assessed at the end of 48Hrs
