Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Neonates whose parents are willing and allowing their child to participate in our study. 2) Babies of both the gender with their ages ranged from 1-28 days after birth (neonates). 3) Neonates who are medically diagnosed with pneumonia by neonatologist. 4) Neonates with pneumonia on mechanical ventilation and planning to get extubated.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Neonates with congenital anomaly 2) Neonates with cardiac defects and congestive cardiac failure 3) Neonates with pulmonary interstitial emphysema 4) Neonates with bronchopulmonary dysplasia 5) Neonates with known neurological involvement 6) Hypothermic babies 7) Neonates with known metabolic bone disease and rib fractur

Primary

MeasureTime frame
i. Physiological vitals: Heart Rare(HR), Respiratory Rate(RR), Oxygen Saturation (SPO2), ii. Auscultation finding iii. Chest radiograph findings (within 6-8 hrs) Timepoint: 15 minutes

i. Duration of oxygen support needed after extubation ii. Incidence of Extubation failure (within 24-72 hours after extubation)Timepoint: 24-72 hours
