Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Completely edentulous patients willing for conventional removable prosthesis. Age criteria - Age group between 60 to 75 years. Patients who are old denture wearers. Patients who are not suffering from any chronic debilitating disease. Absence of any kind of oral pathology. Patients who understand and are willing to be a part of this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient suffering from Xerostomia. Patients taking any kind of medication which affect salivary secretions from last three months like anti-histamnes, anti-cholinergics, anti-depressants, anti-emetics. anti-hypertensives, anti-pyschotics, diuretics. Patients with any pyschosomatic disorder. Presence of any malignancy of head and neck.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To find difference in the amount of saliva and levels of secretory IgA before and after the intake of Probiotics in completely edentulous patients.Timepoint: Multistrain probiotic is given to the patients to check their amount of saliva and level of secretory IgA in completely edentulous patients which is then compared with the control group not taking probiotic at baseline and then 3 months after complete denture insertion.
