Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age between 20 and 65 years 2. ASA physical status I, II. 3. Elective lower limb and lower abdominal surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age 65 years 2. Pregnancy 3. History of known allergy to acetaminophen. 4. BMI > 24.9 5. Liver dysfunction (AST > 35IU, ALT > 35IU) 6. Body temperature > 38 C or 7. History of alcohol abuse. 8. Laparoscopic/Arthroscopic surgeries 9. Patients receiving intra operative blood transfusion. 10. Contraindication to spinal anaesthesia. 11. Height > 150 cms 12. Surgeries of duration > 2 hours

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Intra operative and post operative shivering scores.Timepoint: after spinal anaesthesia and every 30 minutes until the end of the procedure Every hour post op upto 6 hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Intra operative and post operative body temperature changes.Timepoint: Just before spinal anaesthesia, and every 15 minutes intraoperatively immediately and every hour upto 6 hours
