Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. skeletal class II malocclusion due to mandibular retrognathism. 2. No previous history of any orthodontic treatment. 3. Each subject with a full cusp class II or end-on molar relationship bilaterally with convex facial profile. 4. The overjet should be more than than 4 mm. 5. VTO improved with anterior positioning of mandible.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Syndromic cases. 2. Children with following disorders â?? A) Disorders of Bone metabolism. B) Hepatobiliary disorders. C) Systemic Inflammatory diseases. 3. Children with compromised oral hygiene. 4. Children taking drugs that can alter salivary flow.

MeasureTime frame
Monthly assessment of salivary alkaline phosphatase levels during growth modulation therapy by twin block in growing skeletal class II children.Timepoint: Base line and then after 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 months ( monthly intervals upto 6 months )

1. Assessment of skeletal and dentoalveolar effects of growth modulation treatment by twin block. 2. Correlation of salivary alkaline phosphatase levels with skeletal effects. Timepoint: 6 months
