Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consecutive patients of both genders and >18 years of age presenting to Kasturba Hospital, Manipal who are clinically suspected Ankylosing Spondylitis and tested for HLA-B27 carriage status will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All patients suspected with isolated non-Ankylosing Spondylitis conditions including psoriatic arthritis, Reactive arthritis, Reiterâ??s syndrome, Inflammatory bowel disease etc. and evaluated for HLA-B27 will be excluded from the study

This study will help in analysing the frequency of HLA-B27 positivity among patients clinically suspected with Ankylosing Spondylitis. This study will help in analysing the clinical profile of patients with AS in our setting and to understand the differences in clinical and radiological features among HLA-B27 positive and negative patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis.Timepoint: 18 months

Can assess the frequency of occurrence of non-disease associated subtypes of HLA-B27.Timepoint: 18 months
