Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Women were eligible for enrollment if they had a gestational age >= 34 completed weeks based on the last menstrual period or first trimester ultrasound and were undergoing emergency cesarean delivery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they were less than 34 weeks of gestation,undergoing elective cases, were receiving general anesthesia, or had a pregnancy complicated by an active infection, morbidly adherent placenta, morbidly obese women, history of pulmonary thromboembolism or deep vein thrombosis, history of rupture uterus or pre-existing hypertension, or pregnancy-induced hypertension preoperatively that would potentially prolong their hospitalization. Previous history of two or more caesarean section cases were also excluded due to risk of bladder adherence and morbidly adhered placenta necessitating prolonged catherization and hospital stay.
