Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with ASA Physical Status I , II and III posted for major abdominal surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy Drug allergy Patient refusal Uncooperative patients systemic or local infection cardiac disease severe lung disease liver disease kidney disease

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) score at rest and at coughing between levobupivacaine and morphine. Timepoint: 24 hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Haemodynamic parameters. Assessment of motor blockade. Sedation score. Need for additional analgesic such fentanyl(0.5 microgram/kg) Adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, respiratory depression, pruritus. Timepoint: 24 hours
