Intervention1: To evaluate the efficacy of topical phenytoin on wound healing on palate after free gingival graft (FGG) harvest.: In both the groups recipient beds will be prepared and required amount

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Participants without any systemic diseases. - Participants indicated for FGG to be harvested from palate. - Participants without an active periodontal disease. - No previous history of periodontal surgery on the palatal masticatory mucosa in the last 6 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Smokers -Pregnant / lactating females -Participants who are unwilling to take part in the study.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluation of palatal wound healing using: 1. Landryâ??s Wound Healing Index 2. The peroxide test using 3% H2O2Timepoint: Clinical parameters will be recorded on 6th, 14th and 21st day after FGG harvest.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Questionnaires will be given to the participants for: 1. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) to assess pain. 2. Number of Analgesics, if taken.Timepoint: Assessment of the responses will be done on 6th, 14th and 21st day after FGG harvest.
