Intervention1: Short term use of octreotide to reduce lymphorrhoea post modified radical mastectomy: Administration of Inj Octreotide 100mg intravenously TDS , for 48 hours post modified radical maste

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients of carcinoma breast, above 18 years of age, planned for modified radical mastectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous irradiation to chest 2. Known hypersensitivity to octreotide 3. History of cardiovascular disease, renal and hepatic impairment 4. Pregnancy and lactation

Decrease in lymphorrhoea (drain output) volumeTimepoint: Assessed everyday starting from post operative day 1 till drain removal
