Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) 12- 18 years of age 2) 28 permanent teeth in occlusion 3) Be in a good general health 4) Given written informed consent 5) Has not received any periodontal therapy within the preceding 6 months. 6) Diagnosed with mild to moderate type of gingivitis on score

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) All those not willing to participate. 2) Any underlying systemic disease. 3) On Orthodontic treatment â?? fixed or removable 4) Not willing to comply with the recall visits 5) Smokers. 6) On any regular medication which could decrease the salivary flow.

The mean plaque and gingival index was analyzed by using Studentâ??s t test for normally distributed data and Wilcoxson W and Mann Whitney U test for skewed data.
