Intervention1: Biopsy: Intra-operatively, the biopsy will be taken from vertebra which are included in fusion surgery using a biopsy cannula (4mm core diameter) & will be followed by pedicle screw ins

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: � DEXA proven osteoporotic patients (T score less than-2.5) and non-osteoporotic pa-tients in different age groups undergoing spine surgery will be considered as cases and controls respectively � Psychosocially, mentally and physically able to fully comply with this protocol including, adhering to completing forms and other study procedures. � Personally, signed and dated informed consent document prior to any study-related procedures indicating that the patient has been informed of all pertinent aspects of the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: � Patient not fulfilling inclusion criteria � Patient not willing to participate in the study � Patients diagnosed with any spine infection or malignancy will be excluded from the study. � Patients operated with revision surgeries.

Micro structural changes in lumbar vertebrae at different age groups provide an insight about the pathological changes that are not detectable on DEXA test that is routinely used for screening of osteoporosis.Timepoint: 2 Years
