Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: cases -all children and adolescents aged less than 18 years diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus with more than 2 year duration controls-age matched non diabetic children and adolescents suffering from minor illness, attending paediatric department

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: subjects with syndromic diabetes mellitus subjects with neonatal diabetes mellitus subjects with diabetic ketoacidosis subjects with co existing renal disorders subjects with acute kidney injury
