Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Teeth indicated for root canal treatment with apical periodontitis. Healthy person between the age group of 18-50, giving a signed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Retreatment cases Completely calcified canals Internal Resorption

Reduction in bacterial load determined by colony forming unit (CFU)Timepoint: CFU analysis at base level (S1) after access opening. CFU analysis after complete cleaning and shaping (S2). CFU analysis after one week of medicament placement in the canal (S3)

Reduction in painTimepoint: preoperative pain, pain after 24 hours and after one week of follow up determined by VAS pain scale
