Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study include all patients between 1-12years of age,of either sex,ASA I ,II and III undergoing elective or emergency under general anesthesia with controlled ventillation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Non consenting 2.Cardiac surgery or major heart disease /vascular disease 3.Pre-operative shock or Mechanical Ventillation 4.Raised intra cranial pressure or intra -abdominal pressure

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.IVC-Max.Diameter (dIVCmax) 2.IVC-Min.Diameter (dIVCmin) 3.The above two parameter will be used to calculate the collapsibility index 4. Correlation coefficient of duration of fasting with measured ultrasound parameters 4.Timepoint: Baseline (fed), preoperative (fasting), after starting mechanical ventilation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Inter rater reliability measurements of ultrasonic values and respiratory variations of IVC and Aortic parameters during spontaneous ventilation. 2. The above parameters during controlled ventilation. Timepoint: Baseline (fed), preoperative (fasting), after starting mechanical ventilation
