Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All children presenting with empyema thoracis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who have underlying malignancy. Children with post-operative empyema. Children with empyema following acute/ chronic pancreatitis.

MeasureTime frame
Time to achieve defervescence in children with empyema thoracis, defined as time (in days) elapsed between admission and the first day with a temperature under 38 C for 24 hour.Timepoint: Baseline

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Duration of hospital stay in children with empyema thoracis.Timepoint: From Baseline till discharge.
