Intervention1: zinc: 20mg (1ml) once daily orally for three months Control Intervention1: multivitamin drops: 1ml once daily orally for three months

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. normal kidney fuction 2.first episode of nephrotic syndrome or relapse of nephrotic syndrome 3.steroid sensitive nephrotic syndrome

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. clinical evidence of malnutrition or systemic disease 2. those on zinc supplementation 3.congenital nephrotic syndrome or infantile nephrotic syndrome
