Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Consenting patients with cirrhosis of liver attending the outpatient / inpatient services of Division of Gastroenterology. Cirrhosis of liver is defined as the histological development of regenerative nodules surrounded by fibrous bands in response to chronic liver injury, that leads to portal hypertension and end stage liver disease In clinical practice, the diagnosis is based on a combination of clinical, biochemical and radiological findings with or without evidence of varices on endoscopic evidence. 2. Age above 18 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with tuberculosis, cancer or other severe co-morbidities that will affect the outcome independently will be excluded

MeasureTime frame
1. To determine the incidence of renal dysfunction in liver cirrhosis patients 2. To classify patients into various categories such as AKI (prerenal, HRS-AKI, ATN, and postrenal) as per the ICA-AKI criteria, AKI-on-CKD, and CKD as per the KDIGO definition 3. To calculate FENa in patients with AKI 4. To classify patients with HRS into HRS AKI and HRS NAKI as per new definitions Timepoint: After 6 months of recruitment
